03 Dec 11 - wbb56 > Free - "Had to substitue a run for my ride today. The only chance for any outdoor exercise was at 6 or earlier this morning..it was pretty cold-low 30s (and dark).. and I didn't want to ride the trainer.. so I opted for a very easy, very controlled run. Felt great. I kept the pace moderate to slow..and my heart rate stayed well under 138 for most of the run.. Also used this run to try a slightly longer run in the minimal Brooks Pure Grit shoes.."
11 May 11 - wbb56 > Speed Work Wednesday - "The last interval-one mile-was a strong one. My goal was to run it at least as fast as the 400s/800s, if not faster. Pace was right at 6:45. Would have preferred 6:35-but I was still pleased-especially since the last .5 was directly into another strong (15mph+) wind. Good cool down run and nice stretch afterwards. No major aches--only noticeable problem was my hamstring-kind of tight & sore."
11 May 11 - wbb56 > Speed Work Wednesday - "So.. I put in the entire workout in the car and just let my Garmin track time/distance/pace/HR. The short intervals were not so exact-but the longer ones were fine. Very good program. May challenge my favorite "Cyclemeter"! Pretty good warm-up--and decent strides to get loosened up. Felt like I started the first 400 a little fast but settled in ok and was fairly consistent on the 400s. Slipped up on the 2nd 800 though. Eased up too early! It wasn't a terrible interval-but was 9 sec. slower."
11 May 11 - wbb56 > Speed Work Wednesday - "Good workout today. Almost had to "wing" this one though. Got to the beach around 6:30am, checked my Garmin-previewed the planned workout-discovered that my workout data did not transfer over correctly-or at all last night! On any other kind of workout it wouldn't matter too much--today it would have been difficult to figure the exact distances/paces, etc.. Luckily, being the "app geek" that I am, I had "an app for that"! My newly updated iRunSmooth app lets me program in any kind of workout!"
11 May 11 - wbb56 > Speed Work Wednesday - "Threshold Ladder 20' warm up + 6 x 15s stride 2 x 400, 2 x 800, 1 x 1600 Setting a very controlled pace in 400s so that 8s and 16s are at the same pace. 2' jog after ea 15' cool down"
