Definitely on my list - been going back and forth about whether I should get my Polar fixed or grab a 310xt (been using the Edge 800 in my pocket for the time being), and this makes that decision a lot easier. They fixed the weak wrist strap (it's held in with screws now rather than a spring pin) and added a barometric altimeter which pretty much crossed off the biggest concerns I had with the 310. About the only thing missing is the R-R heart rate data, but the swimming features more than make up for that. Kind of irritating that Garmin doesn't add that capacity though, as their ANT+ HR straps deliver that data (it's needed for the Firstbeat calorie computation they use) but the wrist units just dispose of it rather than recording it :P Either way, more detailed information about it can be had here: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/10/garmin-forerunner-910xt-in-depth-review.html

The new indoor pool feature of this watch would make the data from my pool training much more meaningful and accurate. I normally swim in an 25-yard outdoor pool and get lousy data on my 310XT. I understand from Ray Maker that the 310XT's new software update makes calculating the distance for open water swims much more accurate (albeit the map would not indicate it). The accuracy in calculating the distance on the open water swim does not translate well for outdoor pools, particularly (my best guess) because you do not swim far along one straight line (you would just do laps back and forth). Because of the numerous laps, the 310XT is unable to properly calculate the distance when your hand is in the water (which is half the time). In my experience, this understates the distance you actually swam by a lot. This makes the 910XT much more superior, without doubt, than the 310XT regardless of the premium I have to pay. I hope someone would be willing to buy my 310XT, which is practically brand new.

I am waiting for mine to be delivered. However they keep putting back the date to manufacturing issues.

Picking mine up tomorrow to replace my dying Polar after a l-o-n-g wait. Now just have to figure out how comfortable I am with dunking an expensive piece of electronics in a chlorinated pool on a regular basis :OP
