Hi springs
In fact, being in a city can make the GPS worse than being in the country - tall buildings make the GPS reception a bit harder.
However, we record lots in London, so GPS should be able to work wherever you are.
One question is... which network are you on? The one big question mark I keep hearing about Wave's in Vodafone - apparently they did something to the firmware on their early Wave releases.
Apart form the, the only other things you can try are:
- playing with the "settings" under location on the phone - there are lots of different things there - we've used the phone with all the A-GPS (mobile phone network enhancing) options off and the GPS seemed to work quite well.
- changing how you hold the phone while running - e.g. changing whatever you use to carry it. Our main use at present is in a back pocket while cycling - it works really well there.
- trying to make sure you get lock before you start moving - e.g. leaving the phone outside on a table for a minute or two before starting.
The problem isn't unique to the Wave or even to phones - we always leave out Garmin GPS watches outside for a few minutes before we take them for a run.
Hope that helps
Stuart
