Lost my crash virginity

It's a special day. I finally "ate it" for the 1st time on the bike. It was inevitably going to happen, so I figure it's a good thing to get it out of the way. It was a windy autumn day in los angeles. I decided to take a different route today, up and down mount Hollywood twice. Surprisingly I was feeling great (considering I was battling a cold) until about the turn-around mark when i took a sharp down-hill turn (luckly at 15-20 MPH) a little too wide. Beneath me, tree foliage that was laying there for a few days. As soon as i saw it, I thought "Oh oh", lost my balance and slid just like we see the guys on the tour do every year. I laid on the ground embarrassed, and with my luck there's always someone looking when something goes wrong. I heard "are you OK?" ... i moaned "yeah, I'm good". Arms moving .. check, legs moving .. check, head moving .. check .. " yeah, I'm good". I got up dust myself off. Noticed nothing major broken or torn just scraped my left hip, shoulder and elbow... outside that I'm OK.
So there you have it. 1st fall!

Wow - way to go on crashing in style, Cheffy - all I normally manage is falling over at traffic lights. Glad nothing's broken on you or the steed - livestrong

hahaha.. and i thought i was the only one who fell over at lights. I have fallen once waiting for the stupid light to change.. and of course there were 2 cyclist right there staring at me. Now that's embarrassing. I don't count that fall, i think everyone should be excused one fall :).

I to have lost my crash virginity recently. A car driver turned right in front of me and I hit him at full pelt. ouch!! ended up on the floor with cuts bruises and a double break of a rib. Just picked bike up from police station and it looked at me as if to say "what have u done to me". Gotta get the bike to my local bike shop and assess the damage but it looks terminal!!!
