The Polar Personaltrainer(polarpersonaltrainer.com) has the capability of downloading the training data from the Web Site into a XML File.
I would like to import my seven year training history (or less) into RunSaturday ...
Is there any possibility to do this - write PPT XML-import ???

If you email me a file - me[at]slodge[dot]com - I'll take a look... or if someone can give me logon ids for ppt then I could try an automated web import. No promises on timeline though - I've got so much work to do before May!

I'm also interested in being able to import data from other types of Polar HRM's. I have a Polar RS200 with foodpod which can transmit it's data to the mentioned website. Or in my case, because i only use Linux and the Polar software only works on that other OS, i use rs200_decode (http://rs200-decoder.sourceforge.net/) to create an xml file which i store on my computer.
I can provide you with such an xml file if that helps.
*update*: sent you an e-mail with an xml file

Thanks for both sets of files. They're different formats (of course!) - but both XML and very readible. Have either of you got coding skills? Do you want to have a go at programming these? If not, then I will - but give me a week or two :)

I've got most of the PolarPersonalTrainer code working now :) Thanks especially to TC for supplying me with lots of sample files However... I could do with a few more samples from other people - so if anyone is interested, then please send me your samples. One sample I'm especially looking for is one with a speed type of RUNNING - not sure what this means... the Polar spec is "a bit vague" on it. Thanks Stuart (Teranex - no - I've not got around to the Linux rs200 toy - not yet...)

I've uploaded a first attempt at PolarPersonalTrainer import today on: http://www.runsaturday.com/Train/Add/PolarPlease note that because of the lack of clearly definied sport types in the Polar xml format, then currently all sports uploaded together will be assigned the same sport type in runsaturday - so it's up to you to do some work in order to get the organisation as you would like it. This isn't fully checked over functionality - I need to run lots more tests on it - but so far so good Let me know if you spot any problems - or if you like the functionality :) Stuart

teranex - Are you around still? Is the rs200 linux functionality still needed? Do you have any development skills to help?

Hi guys!!, i think i´m gonna turn crazy ... i´m trying to export data from my polar rs300x and there is no way. You comment here that personaltrainner.com can export this info to an xml but i don´t find the way to do. Could anyone help me?? i´m a bit furious with the polar software in general, because it´s so difficult to export data from it, wich must be easier than really is.
Thanks friends!!!

Not an expert in PPT, but here's some info: http://www.polar.fi/en/support/product_support?document=/gip/PKBStoGIP.nsf/LINK/x2D00F1E395F8327BC22572F800460002?OpenDocumentQuote:How to export 1. Log in to polarpersonaltrainer.com 2. Go to My Diary and select List view. 4. Select the items you want to export by selecting the check boxes left of the desired calendar items 5. Click on Export selected -button A Save as -dialog appears prompting you to Open or Save the generated XML file. Export selected -button does nothing if no items are selected. The file name is composed of your user account nickname, the current date and the word ”export”, all separated by an underscore. The file type suffix is always .xml
The easiest way to open an XML file is to double-click on it and let your PC decide which default application should open the file. If no program opens the XML file then you probably don't have an application installed that can view and/or edit XML files.

Hi folks strange, the import from polarpersonaltrainer xml-file worked all the time. From last week on it has stopped working. Cannot import any xml file anymore. Has somebody the same problem?
