I'm still getting nowhere with Samsung :/ They've thrown the app out of the Bada marketplace because it doesn't work with 2.0

Breaking every GPS app is crazy by them. Just crazy.

And luckily I still haven't been able to upgrade my phone to 2.0 - that Kies thing won't let me!

Hi!!!!

The problem is the Bada 2.0.

I try runningfree (which I unnistalled without know I can´t download it again), runstasticc, smartrunner, badatrakcer, Imapmyride..... and all of them have the same bug: At 10 minutes more or less the GPS does not work, or give incredible reads. I buyed (4 €) badasports thinking it will work better, and it is the same. Brick wall

But I think I have solved the problem. I start a long play-list in the audio player, put the volume at the minimum or mute, and then I star the badasports. Doing this yes, it works!!! So I think the trouble is the opperating system. I think that the audio player not allow the phone to suspend it at all, and the gps go on running.

Yes, doing this the battery runs out faster, but, at least, it works. If I could, I´d came back to bada 1.0. It have not this bug. My wife´s wave is bada 1.0 and it runs ok. My last ride I used the two phones (wave with bada 1.0 and wave with bada 2.0) and they works ok. The differences was the bada 1.0 catch gps signal a little later than bada 2.0, but the bada 2.0 battery runs out very faster because I used the "cheat" of the audio player to avoid suspend the phone. Think

I think it´s time to Samsung fix this bug. The gps can not turn off when there is a program using it. No matter the screen is locked, the program is using it. Shame on you

The only program which does not need this fix is "Smove" beacuse it not allow the opperating system to block the screen. but the trouble is that not block phisical buttons. So you can accidentally exit the app or turn off the phone.

I think if Samsung fix this bug the runningfree app would work properly.

Note: sorry for my english. I don´t use it to much. Whistle

Dear wishes, and enjoy your runs!!!!!!

There is a way to go back to bada 1.2 or even 1.0. All You need is:
1) Multiloader V5.65 (google)
2) Firmware with proper version (find it on on samfirmware.com)
You will loose all data and may loose warranty ;) But You can install every firmware You want. I personally went through a lot of bada 2.0 versions - all were gps faulty and went back to XJID version (bada 1.2).

What's most important that You can find runningfree application in samsung apps in uploaded applications. However, some firmwares allows to view only 10 recently uploaded application. As You upload it You may back up running free in kies and use forever ;)

Anyway I still keep my fingers crossed for samsung to fix this bloody fault...

P.S. Maybe someone who knows how to create bada application will write a simple application which for example will calculate random number each 30 seconds? This could solve problem and save a lot of battery as a MP3 replacement ;)

Hi wilq

I´ve reading about returning to bada 1.2. It´s possible, yes. Thanks

On the other hand the problem is runningfree is not in samsung apps, neither in web nor mobile app. If I return to bada 1.2, I will not be able to download it again. Brick wall

The idea of an app about a random number is a great idea, but I think is an idea to solve a bada´s trouble, not running free app´s trouble. But It could solve our problem.

I think the solution is in the hands of Samsung, they must fix it soon.

My wife is bada 1.0, and her runningapp is not working no more since last sunday. I tried to restore files from a backup, but it did not work. And in Samsung apps is not it, or I can´t find it.

Thanks for your answer.

Time to wait for Samsung. Brick wall

Samsung sent me an email telling me the app was no longer on the marketplace because it didn't work (they also said they'd sent me other emails, but hadn't!)

I *will* try again to get Bada 2 working this weekend... I'll start the downloads on Friday night.

Hi cernicalo! I wish it was not, but this project is apperantly dead. I am thinking of both "wave" and "runningfreeonline". There are no new "waves" released at all. Samsung abandonded wave and bada and said it officially. Then.. Look at the total kilometers at runningfreeonline and discussions. No doubt that this is the end :( Sad - because I liked runningfreeonline very much but as for the moment I changed to android and endomondo. Sad but true.

Hi Wilq!!

Yes, it´s sad but true. I changed to runtastic and android, but I still use runningfreeonline. I usually upload the gpx recorded with S-Move on bada. Why? It´s better to have 2 mobile on a bike, because you have 2 recording gpx and two emergency phone.

But it´s what you said: sad but true. Both of them: bada an runtastic app.

Thanks.
