You are probably favouring it and not landing correctly because of the issues you've had. Obviously I can't see how you are running so it's only speculation on my part. You need to focus on how that foot lands and make sure you land it properly - under the body on the foot, not in front on the heel. Stand tall, lean straight from the ankles, no bend at the hips."
