Set off for a 17.5km run. Ended up doing a half marathon. Felt fine afterwards. Now twingey in the knees (left mainly) and having some interesting cowboy moments when standing up and sitting down. Felt strong whilst running - even ran with a pacer for a while. They were on a bike. Didn't have enough water. Had some jelly hairibo type things which I'm enjoying and that went well with an otherwise very bland bar - which I don't think had any protein in. I need to start taking some form of bar with me as I don't know that I like the energy gels and I need the extra carb/protein on the way round. THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU ATE AT THE RPH!!! I need to be loading beforehand in that way, and also loading after. Slept really badly before and after.. Don't know what the before was due to - I think excitement and the fact I was eager to try out the route I'd planned - but the after.. Not sure. I got four hours and then was bolt awake. Did sleep again for an hour or so but still fresh. Did have a drink after the run but within a few pints and also drank a fair bit of water and had pasta, nachos and a fair bit of chicken. Who knows. All done now though. Good effort Wardlaw.
