Registration is now live for the second After Adoption Hyde Park 10k run, taking place at 9.30am on Sunday, 24th October 2010.
Last year’s event, the charity’s first ever self-branded run, was a huge success with over 500 runners taking part and raising over £20,000 for After Adoption. Feedback was excellent – the event achieved fantastic ratings with the vast majority of runners wishing to take part again.
Will Clarke, national triathlon champion, finished in pole position with a time of 31:36 and won the first prize of a weekend for two in Iceland, kindly donated by Iceland2go. Meriel Holden was the first woman past the line at 40:41 and won a luxury spa package from Aveda.
This year’s race is set to be bigger and better with an estimated 1,000 runners taking part in the 10k run. There’ll also be a 5k option, put on jointly with Two2go, so this is an event for beginners and athletes alike. Hyde Park is one of London’s landmark locations and at over 350 acres it is the largest green space in the city. The race takes runners through the heart of the park by the famous Rotten Row, along the Serpentine and through the Italian Gardens. This race is a great opportunity to run one of the country’s most stunning routes.
The After Adoption Hyde Park 10k marks the start of National Adoption Week and money raised from the event will help the charity provide invaluable support to children and adults affected by adoption. Runners are encouraged to raise money – but there is no minimum sponsorship!
